As a consultant my aim is to help you find the solutions you need to strengthen your organisation and achieve your goals more effectively.
Good communication is the key to a successful consultant / client relationship. Before starting I will meet with you to find out more about your organisation and what you want to achieve. This will help me to understand your needs, your way of working and the environment you work in.
At the end of the meeting we will agree a work programme and a budget for the work, based on the maximum number of days I think it will take – if it takes less than this you will only pay for the days actually worked. You will not be charged more unless additional work is required.
If you have a fixed budget, we will agree a programme that fits with this.
Once I’ve started work I will meet with you at regular intervals to update you on progress and get feedback from you. This ensures that the work stays on track and really meets your needs.
For larger projects I have a pool of associates whose expertise I can draw on, including Rosie Chapman, now Chair of the voluntary sector good governance code. Rosie and I started out as consultants together (Belinda Pratten and Rosie Chapman Associates) and still enjoy working with each other whenever the opportunity arises.
